How to Clean a Neck Massager (Without Breaking It)
Sweat, skin oils, and dust build up on your massager over time. Here's the safe way to clean it.
What you'll need
- A soft, lint-free cloth
- Mild soap or a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe
- A dry towel
- A soft brush (like a clean makeup brush) for fabric nodes
Step-by-step
1. Power off and unplug
Always turn the device off and remove it from any charger before cleaning. Never clean a massager while it's charging.
2. Wipe the contact surfaces
Dampen the cloth with soapy water or an alcohol wipe and gently wipe the nodes, pads, and any surface that touches your skin. Don't soak the cloth โ moisture and electronics don't mix.
3. Clean the fabric and straps
For fabric-covered nodes, use the soft brush to lift dust, then spot-clean with a barely damp cloth. For the arm straps, wipe with the cloth and let them air-dry completely.
4. Dry everything thoroughly
Wipe all surfaces with the dry towel and leave the massager in a ventilated area for at least 30 minutes before using or charging it again.
What to avoid
- Never submerge the device in water
- No abrasive cleaners, bleach, or solvents on the nodes
- Don't use a hairdryer on hot settings to speed up drying
- Avoid charging while any moisture remains
How often should you clean it?
Wipe the contact surfaces after every few uses, and do a full clean every 1โ2 weeks. If you use the massager right after a workout or in hot weather, clean it more often.
